This place really made a great impression! Had the tuna salad and roasted potatoes; my lady opted for the Dino's special w/a hard boiled egg added. Seriously delicious and very good portions. If you like fresh ingredients don't look any further. We'll be stopping in again on this stay.

Breakfast for 4. - Ambiance (4/5) Really nice, intimate atmosphere for breakfast, though the dining area is TINY. Not good for groups bigger than 2-4 if you want to dine in. - Service (5/5) Friendly and fast. - Orange Juice, $4.95 (4/5) Great, just not sure I needed the ice, as it was diluting the orange goodness. - Vegetable Quiche, $11.95 (3/5) Packed with veggies, but I found the quiche itself to be a bit inconsistent-- a bit overcooked on top and falling apart in the middle. It also needed a hit of salt. The side salad was a welcome surprise. - Value (3/5) I found it to be a bit expensive considering the portion. - Final Word A nice spot for breakfast if you have some time to hang out.

Do yourself a favor and stop by for brunch. The chocolate almond croissants are to die for, especially when they're fresh from the oven. Once you plunge your fork into the pastry, warm marzipan filling oozes out. So delicious with the giant cups of coffee that Frenchie's offers! Also, the bacon egg and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich is easily big enough for sharing and is quite good. The bacon is thin, crispy perfection. They also have a wide variety of bottled beverages, including Lornina French sodas, beer and wine.

Veggie quiche is amazing. Coffee is freshly brewed. All the food is fresh and cooked on the spot. Owner is very friendly and accommodating. Only thing is that I wish there was more space to sit inside.

Frenchies Cafe was kind of a secret fine for us. My partner and I were in Key West for a week, and wandered around looking for breakfast. This place is kind of unassuming, with only about three or four tables for eating food. There are a lot of pseudo-French restaurants in Key West, I noticed, but Frenchies Cafe is not fake at all. Our whole time we were eating, French expats kept coming in and ordering and chatting up the owners. This is legit French food. I opted for the ratatouille and turkey sandwich, which was good, but sort of fell apart when eating. But at the end of the day, the ingredients were very high-quality and I enjoyed the sandwich. My partner opted for the egg and cheese croissant, which is not your regular McDonald's variety of breakfast sandwich. Frenchies Cafe uses a salamander to boil on jeans to the middle of the croissant, and then put fresh eggs. He really enjoyed that sandwich. I would definitely put Frenchies Cafe on my list of breakfast spots to try out in Key West!

A whole in the wall off the Southern most point. Its a great little place for breakfast and lunch. All their breads are fresh and dishes are made right there on the spot. We had some sandwiches, salad, croissants all delicious. There is out door seating and the people are French and very friendly. It's clean, little, quaint with great food.

this place is no good, I took a chance based on the reviews and I was very disappointed. the place has people that look like crackheads cooking your food, they only have a few seats for indoor dining and they are terribly cramped. I really don't get what all the hype is, my eggs were not fully cooked.......stay away, you have been warned

Here is my wife's statement after I brought home a samon croissant sandwich for her: "I haven't had a croissant this good since we left France." Indeed, I concur. Like a French Bistro, (which it is not), instead of the hustle and bustle at lunch of a Deli, (which it is), you feel like sinking in and relaxing for an hour or three. The food is tres simple, but beyond compare, particularly their patisserie, which is as traditional as you can get. I tend to blather on and on about how much I like (or not) a restaurant....but I have a baguette from *Frenchies to finish! (*a name that makes me cringe, but uneducated Americans think is so...so "je ne sais c'est quoi" ... Ugh!)

Very good French restaurant, small location. Pastries and quiche were delicious!! Would definitely come back soon...

We went to Frenchie for a brunch one day. The food was really fresh but the service was really slow. It looked like there was only one guy serving the whole restaurant (it's a small place) and 2 people cooking. Inside it smelt wonderful!! It smelt like fresh baked goods! I was in love with the smell. We sat in the back patio because it was the first available. Who seemed to be the owner came out and spoke with us in the beginning to make sure everything was good. At that time everything g was going great. I understand that everything is made fresh to order. We did wait quiet some time.

If this place isn't five stars, I'm not sure what is! A small, cute French cafe with delicious food and a loving staff. The owners care about their work. Its like a trip to France in the middle of Key West! We had quiche Lorraine and Idaho potato quiche. The potato quiche is amazing and the potatoes are soft like eggs. Pastries are delicious, and coffee is good. They get very busy even though its a small place, so don't expect constant contact with the staff. Meaning a few minutes may go by before you get what you need. Nevertheless the service is sufficient and I wish I found this place earlier. Friendly owner, amazing food. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to.

  • Jon D.

Had breakfast here 3 times while in Key West. So good I went twice in one morning. Fresh baked goods and excellent dishes are perfect for breakfast. Coffee was excellent as well! The staff is extremely friendly....love this place and will definitely recommend and return as many times as I'm in Key West!!

  • Kris I.

Beautiful & flaky pastries, authentic, strong & delicious lattes and coffee all with a friendly Frenchman behind the counter. What a wonderful change from the sub-par cuisine that we have been exposed to in (lovely) Key West. So sad it is our last day! Vive la Frenchies Cafe!!!

We stopped in for breakfast and had two great meals. My wife had the quiche lorraine and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The slice was large and was more than she could eat. I had the croque madam and it was excellent. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had. Sandwich was large and both meals came with a small side salad. Frenchies Cafe's decor is nice and intimate up front with additional seating out back. We were both very satisfied with the customer service and food and would not hesitate to visit the place again.

A wonderful place. Went here twice, something we never do when traveling. Highly recommend the croissants.

This place did not disappoint. Had a egg and cheese on a baguette and man was it fresh. The place is small but the owner made your food and served it. Great place !

  • Molly P.

Great simple french breakfast and fabulous service. The owner accidentally burnt my husband's omelette but was so apologetic about it. And he gave us 2 free pastries to make up for it. Magnifique! We continued to return throughout our trip-we fell in love with the simple french breakfast and the kind service.

Also the almond croissants are fresh from the morning and are delicious. Excellent simple and good food. Real good expresso too.

This place is amazing, you won't be disappointed. We had the salmon croissant with egg and tomato, hands down the best croissant sandwich I've ever had in my life

Amazing little hole in the wall place with amazing food! The croque madame is outstanding as well as their quiches

  • Erlend B.

A great local cafe where you get locals as well as tourists. The service is excellent as well as the food that as in the name has a French touch to it. I had the Nicosia salad and girlfriend had the cheese and ham croissant. Both superb! Today we had the Atlantique salad and salmon and cheese croque again superb. MAKE sure you get a Polaroid photo to hang on the wall:) five stars and highly recommended!

  • Ashley K.

Amazing! Cute atmosphere.. Sat outside with a group of 12 and had amazing service and great staff. Everyone was friendly and Sweet. Called us by our names which was nice .. Best hidden local cafe! Quiche and sandwiches were amazzzzzzing!

This is the only french restaurant since I got back from France, that I enjoyed. The food here is great. I got the Croque Monsieur and it was the best I've had since France. It's authentic french food. The people who made the meal were nice and I talked to them about the parts of France I visited. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

    (5)
  • Python C.

Quiches are sooooooo good. One and full. Great lunch here. Diffidently worth it. Need a new AC though. Tried croissant next morning, not as great as others said but still good.

    (5)
  • Guillaume D.

Excellent little French "hole in the wall". For once, you have a French restaurant with only a hint of American food, rather than the opposite. We had their croque-monsieur, it was heavenly. Highly recommended. Bonus: they call their "chocolate-croissant" the right way: Chocolatine (and not Pain Au Chocolat).

    (5)
  • Heidi W.

My 11 yr old daughter and I found this place on Yelp while visiting over the summer. We still talk about it. She had a salad with smoked salmon and I a quiche. It was all amazing. The place is tiny but it reminds me a lot of Europe. It was just perfect. I am trying to find a quiche recipe as good at the quiche I had there but no luck. I wonder if the owner would share. ???

Excellent all around. A little slice of France in Key West. Friendly staff, excellent service. We recommend seeking out this gem.

  • Paul T.

I love when I go into a French cafe and the owner greets me with a French accent. Nestled in the little area near the South maker, Frenchies is a quaint little spot, perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. If you want amazing, try the croque monsiuer(sp?). It's a delicious sandwich with a Béchamel topping. Out was amazing. Additionally, the macarons were spot on. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you're in Key West. Missing AC, which was the only downer for me!

    (4)
  • Mary Ann C.

Such an amazing little cafe! Honestly the most delicious prosciutto sandwich I've ever had! My boyfriend had the Croque Monsieur and loved it too. I overheard a woman saying she had been to France four times and the food here is better than anything she's ever had there!

  • Lucy G.

Go here!!!!!!!!!! You won't regret it. Cute little place near our hotel for a wide range of breakfast and lunch options. We definitely recommend! Authentic French breakfast and the most polite and kind staff! Locals eat here and any French visitors And we will be coming back every morning!! The head chef, the original Frenchie deserves 6/5 stars!

  • Al O.

Very fresh food & super generous portions. Best croque madame I've had in a long time. Bacon was incredible. My wife's omelette was as good as we have had in the keys. Coffee was great as well. Small place but we were seated right away. Good mix of locals and tourists.

After 8 days of eating eggs & bacon for breakfast (which we love) we decided to have a french breakfast as true Frenchies. Great breakfast & staff really friendly.

Small and crowded so get there early for breakfast. Quiche and omelettes were excellent.

On our day trip to Key West, my wife and I got sucked into the tourist section of the city on our way to the Mile 0 marker. We couldn't imagine paying $15 + per person for sub-par sandwiches at all of the fake-restaurants. Then we noticed this little gem just up the street from our parking spot (which, by the way, is $2 / hour...) This place was great. The prices were lower, the staff was friendly (and actually French), and the food was fantastic. If we ever go back to Key West, this will definitely be on our list of places to visit. P.S. the Croque-Monsieur was amazing!

I had such a lovely little breakfast/lunch/whatever you'd like to call it at Frenchies after landing in Key West an hour before. I was absolutely starving (travel does that to ya!) and as soon I laid eyes on this place, I knew I had to stop in. It's adorable, even from the outside! When I got there, I was shocked to see how little of seating they had, but snagged a seat at the counter. Sit there if you can so you can see the chef working away in the kitchen! It was so neat to enjoy my meal while watching everything being made. The people here work very hard, that's for sure. They have a big selection of homemade pastries, and you can also get any kind of coffee drink you'd like. They'll also squeeze some fresh juice right in front of you! As far as the menu goes, you can choose from a variety of quiches, sandwiches, and salads. The hot goat cheese salad is wonderful, and the chef made me a sandwich that I'm not even sure is on the menu. It was made with homemade white bread, had tomato and veggies inside, and was topped with melted cheese and an egg. No words. It was accompanied by a fresh salad, and made me pretty happy. Only negative? Hooooly cow it was hot in there. I think they're trying to save money by not turning the air on, but it's Key West, people. It's just too hot for that sometimes. I'd still go back regardless, and hope to someday!

My wife and I have been to Key West 2 years in a row, and stay nearby, and this place is a solid, reliable and enjoyable choice. Excellent casual breakfast and lunch, to stay in or take out. Hearty breakfast options as well as lighter fare. Superior pastries. I never really thought much of croissants before -- because, I now realize, I'd been eating mass-produced bread swirls. These are flaky, light and yet rich and delicious. Small seating areas, not ideal for groups but nice for 2, max 3. Actual French-speaking folks work / own the place. Relaxed atmosphere - order at counter and get served at pick-your-own seating.

  • Angela S.

Excellent food! My husband and I stopped here for a late breakfast. If you go inside, you need to order from the counter. I think it's table service if you sit on the back patio. We had the quiche Lorraine and the Idaho quiche. Both come with side salads. The slice of quiche is huge! Iced coffees are also really good. We went back with my in-laws and tried the ham and Swiss crossaint and the veggie quiche. Both were great! There are only 3 or 4 people working so when they get busy, it does take quite awhile to get your order. Pay at the end of your meal.

  • nancy m.

this is a very small (just a few tables) restaurant with great coffee and pastries! we had hoped to have a complete breakfast but there was a blackout and couldn't get any cooked food. but based on what delicacies we did enjoy, we could tell the made to order/cooked food would have been magnifique!

    (4)
  • Jen K.

Took a while to get our order, but it was very good. The croissant breakfast sandwiches are HUGE, you can easily split one with someone. Mochas were really good. Very small dining room, 3 couples were in there when I placed my to go order, and there wasn't really much room to move. There are two additional tables on the patio out front, so if you get there before the heat sets in, I imagine it's quite nice. I would have given them 4.5, because they did get my initial order wrong, and then I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to correct it, but it wasn't so much of an inconvenience to warrant downgrading a whole star. If you are staying at the Southernmost Inn, it's literally right next door to you, so it's very convenient.

  • P K.

Great atmosphere Frenchies has very fresh, delicious baked goods and a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We sat outside on the back patio. They not only did not rush us, but kept reassuring us that it was fine to relax and enjoy. The croissants were definitely up to Paris standards. There are heavier meals available also that looked just as delicious.

Unfortunately, I found this place towards the end of our trip. I would have stopped every morning if I knew. Cute little cafe with delicious croissants baked on premises, we also had scramble eggs with roasted potatoes on the side which had lots of flavor.

Great food and atmosphere. Felt like we were back in France:). Great coffee, delicious breakfast croissants, amazing chocolate almond pastry.

Awesome little place and worth the walk from the opposite end of duval at. $50 for a three egg omelet (mozzarella, onion, and tomato), French toast, two giant mimosas, a side of bacon , chocolate croissant, and a side of potatoes. I've posted a picture so you can see. Definitely don't regret the price for the quality of food we got. It really felt like we were sitting down to a home cooked fresh meal. Check the place out, even if it's only for their pastries.

  • Tiffany K.

Cutest place and most delicious French toast I've ever had! Small place only 6 tables. The iced latte gave me life on a hungover morning. The server sliced fresh brioche for the French toast. It was crispy on outside with a small layer of burnt sugar. Wow delicious. We had a small fruit cup which was actually a giant cup. I ordered an omelette which took 30 minutes and so worth the wait. Cooked slowly so it was so fluffy and light. Best cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. Wow. And I love the plates and cutlery. Seriously a gem! We were the only table from 930-1030 then it got slammed. Go early!!! Our check was $33.50 for 2 coffees, French toast, omelette, and fruit cup.

This wonderful cafe delicious! All the pastries are made daily with fresh local fruit & ingredients! Fresh egg breakfast!! Make sure to sit on the patio in the back of the house! Smoked salmon, prosciutto & salad Nicosie are also amazing!!

I had the croque monsuir and it was absolutely delicious. Everything seems to be made in-house and the flavors proved it for me. Wonderful and friendly service. Its a tiny place but wonderful for a quick bite to eat!

Great French food. The owner is from Paris. The service was fast. The food was carefully prepared with an artistic flair.

  • Olena D.

This was an amazing place! I got the Atlantique salad and my boyfriend got the Prosciutto sandwich and everything was very fresh! Sandwich was on baguette which was probably made right there and the home made mayo was very tasty! The salad had potatoes mixed in and topped off with their own yummy dressing which was topped with so much fresh but not too salty salmon (btw anchovies come on the side). A must try and you will not regret coming here!

  • David K.

What a great little find for breakfast just off Duval. Caring staff, great service and an incredible menu. We wanted to order everything but decided on the salmon croque and the croque Monsieur. Both were done perfectly with just enough béchamel to give them the ideal amount of creaminess.

    (5)
  • Mike O.

Quaint, great atmosphere, and awesome food. The smoked salmon quiche is a sure bet. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in town!!

I have a feeling I'm going to up this to five stars soon. We heard about it from our server at Ambrosia and decided to pop in on the way to meeting some friends downtown. I ordered a regular croissant and a chocolate filled thing. They were put in a bag and while we got into conversation with the very friendly staff I started to taste what was in my bag, well before we even paid for our goodies they were gone. I gave them back their empty bag and told them since they are new they need to control overhead! Lol! We didn't have time for a sit down breakfast but I have a feeling a full breakfast here is going to be really good and at which time I can bump this up a star. Best of Luck to Frenchie and company. See u soon when I'm back in KW.

  • Jeff K.

This is a great little French cafe. We stopped by for breakfast and had a great experience. The staff was all very friendly, and they took our picture for the wall of customer photos that they were building. I ordered a smoked salmon croissant, which was truly excellent. Despite being a bit expensive ($9.50 for the croissant), I wish Frenchie's was local to me, because there is little doubt that I'd be a repeat customer.

Heard only good things about Frenchies from Island Genn who really knows Key West restaurants, including that they had the best quiche on the island. We got the quiche Lorraine, and ham and cheese croissant, with a cafe au lait and cappuccino, delivered right to the door. Simply put, it completely lived up to it's name. Delicious but even more so very fresh and with that authentic feel. Someone at the cafe definitely knows what they are doing. The quiche was loaded with bacon and ham but the flavors of the cheese and egg were just as distinguished. A big serving when you get into it, so maybe split the quiche and another item to get a variety off their menu. Coffee and cappuccino were just as they should be! Delicious.

Absolutely loves this place! We ate a lovely lunch there, and plan to go back. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. Its tiny, but has lovely ambience, and truly feels like a little cafe tucked away somewhere in France. The owners are French, which helps. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Overall an excellent meal - definitely has a French service culture, but servers were accommodating and attentive enough. Recommend sitting in the back - there's a lovely little deck that is perfect for breakfast. I had the croque Madame and my husband had the quiche Lorraine - both were prepared and seasoned beautifully and were served with greens with a mustard dressing - a great compliment to the breadiness of the entree. The bread for the croque was melt in you mouth good. Also had a fantastic cafe au lait. Overall, a terrific breakfast!

Frenchies is the perfect spot! We stopped for a breakfast today before leaving town. All 5 people in our group thoroughly enjoyed their food and coffee. Service was excellent and efficient! I just wish I had a few more days in key west to sample more of the menu, very unique to find a French style cafe in Florida.

Bubbling cheese on all the foods! Great spot for affordable breakfast or lunch. Friendly owner and staff. Came twice during our six-day stay -- the only repeat visit we agreed to. And we made the photo wall.

This is an affordable place relative to other Key West eateries and b/c it's French food. Basically, the price is good for the Keys. The food is very good. So, if you're looking for a place for breakfast and lunch, this is a good place to go for some French food. We had the quiche lorraine, croissant, roasted potatoes, and regular coffee. It's very cozy and cute. We just ordered the quiche by itself but we were pleasantly surprised that they gave us the side salad also. You can probably share the quiche with someone b/c it's huge. It was probably the best side salad I've ever had with a delicate dressing and capers. It complements the quiche perfectly. I recommend getting the side salad with the quiche. The croissant was okay. The coffee was under $2 and very good. The roasted potatoes were also pretty good but the portion was small for the price.

Well, first off the restroom was out of order, so my friend went somewhere else and proceeded to eat there. I stayed in the back patio and was waited on by a guy who seemed to not be sure how to juggle a couple of tables gracefully. He took my coffee order, left and then took the couple's drink order who came in after me. I received my coffee, then the couple ordered their breakfast. The cafe au lait was great. Then I ordered my omelette with tomatoes and goat cheese, when another couple came in that was French. The server took their drink order. After waiting a while, the first couple who ordered receive their breakfast sandwiches, and the second couple, who had already received the drinks then received their order. Maybe mine took longer, but communication is key so I know I'm taken care of. I finally received my omelette with what look like brie cheese instead of goat cheese, but the server rushed back to get the goat cheese to show me that it was, in fact, goat cheese. It would have been nice if it was explained to me the intensity of the cheese since this "silly American" wasn't accustomed to its pungent flavor as opposed to the more mild variety. At any rate, as the other French server, or perhaps owner, conversed with the second couple at length in French, I waited for my check. He finally cleared my table and I asked for my check. It came to $12.75 and I'm still craving something. What's more, the first server seemed annoyed with me at the end of the transaction. As a former server myself, it's just disappointing, but figures at a tourist spot. It reminded me of when I was at a cafe in France...

Why to go: they speak French; the place is cute; they have salads; the food is ok. Why not: the food is just ok; French people should be able to make a better croissant. We weren't too excited after we got over our hunger.

Great food! My Croque Monsieur was divine and so was the quiche. Prices were reasonable and the proprietors were quite charming! We ate our breakfast on the cute little patio on a perfect fall day in Key West. What a wonderful experience!! Hope to go back next time we're on the island

Frenchies Cafe was fabulous! It was right across the street from where we were staying so we went there because it was close and the Yelp reviews were favorable. We were not sure the place would be as good as the reviews claimed, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was fabulous! Recommend ordering the ham & cheese croissant or the quiche! Then sit back and enjoy!

Terrific spot for special food prepared with care from fresh, perfect ingredients. Everything we've tried has been truly wonderful. You will be so pleased no matter what you order! I've had the salade nicoisse twice. The second time, they indulged me with extra white anchovies. I like the mustard vinaigrette so much, I took home a bottle of it! My husband has had a number of the sandwiches, he especially likes the salmon. The soup is delicious; we've had 3 varieties so far. It's so nice to have a place like this on this side of town. Thank you Frenchie's!

Everything made to order fresh. Worth the wait. Tried the salami sandwich, the French way, and now it's my new favorite. They made the potato salad as we waited, best ever. Worth the visit.

This is a great little place. It was right in front of the inn we stayed at. They are open for breakfast and lunch. We had breakfast, a large omelet and french sandwich, both were good They have an amazing salad, we went back again for it another day. It's very small inside but we ordered to go.

If you get down to the sothernmost area of Key a West make sure you stop at this small cafe. Wonderful food at a reasonable price. I had a cafe au Kaitlin with a very tasty ham sub. My wife had a salad. Many other good items on the menu including the quiche, smoothies, pastry's. Highly recommend

What a fantastic little French cafe! The coffee was amazing! I went one morning just for coffee (HUGE mugs and refills!!) while my husband was fishing. I was so pleased with the service, atmosphere and smell of the food inside that I brought my husband back the next morning. We both had omelettes that were outstanding! The owner is so friendly and before you leave he snaps a Polaroid for the wall :)

Stopped for a late lunch. They have excellent home made sandwiches either hot or cold. You can eat inside or on porch. Small place but good food and service.

Great breakfast. Coffee was lovely. The quiche was delightful. The food is really good. The people were very friendly and kind to our two year old. Classic french breakfast. We returned for lunch which was also fantastic. I wish we had a frenchies closer to home!!

Absolutely amazing. I was skeptical at first but my coffee was awesome and I had a hot turkey sandwich with Swiss and it was amazing!!!

We literally stumbled on this place and we were lucky to. Everything is fresh and made to order. The tuna salad was fantastic. I would definitely visit this spot again.

Fantastic breakfast or brunch spot. Croque Madame and coffee is excellent. The cheese on my croque Madame was decadent and the ham was high quality (not overly salty). Really friendly owners and staff are friendly and fun to interact with. I appreciate their patience when I just want to linger and read.

Best salmon egg and cheese croissant we have ever tasted!! Super friendly staff and a warm cozy environment. These people know what they are doing!

Wait is long but WORTH in! Food was amazing. Pastries are the best I have had in years! (And I know my pastries) we will go back before we leave the key.

These are lovely people who produce a quality product. Croissants to die for. Can get *quite* busy here, so be prepared to wait. It's not French fast food. Does need a bit more organization with the ordering/settling the bill process. But hey, I'm sure they're happy the way it is, merci.

Good food value which is hard to find in the area. Had a good burger with fresh toppings. Service was friendly and the check came without the sticker shock of Key West. The place was very empty, but I blame that on the weird time we visited.

Most amazing breakfast in key west. My husband and I met a couple of locals last night that recommended it and we couldn't be happier. Chocolate & cream pastry is a MUST. croissant breakfast sandwich is unlike any other. Spectacular. Great people who run it too! Couldn't include a picture bc we ate so fast. They have garden seating in the back. Charming & delicious!!

I miss you Frenchies Cafe!!! I came here with my boyfriend on our last day in the Keys and this is one of my favorite cafe ever! I love love their potato quiche and ham, cheese, eggs quiche and their coffee! It's amazing!!! The croissants were decadent and super moist!! It reminded me of Paris. I can't help but ask the owners if I can take a picture with them. They took me in the kitchen and did not even hesitate for a second to take a picture with me! The girl looks like Jessica Parker! I love you Frenchies Cafe!!!!

This establishment truly earned its five stars. There are few culinary experiences in my life that leave me swooning; Frenchies' chocolate almond croissant was one of them. Its light, flakey texture; crunchy toasted almonds; melted chocolate center, and buttery flavor were perfectly matched. I paired it with a café au-lait that reminded me of the high quality roasts one finds in Europe. Did I mention that everyone, EVERYONE, spoke French inside? No trip to Key West would be complete without a breakfast at Frenchies.

45 minute wait for an omelette? Took too long and people behind the counter totally indifferent. I think they forgot our order because people arriving after us were getting good. The response was "we're busy, we're on island time". Unsat!

Love, love, love this cafe. Stayed in key west 2 months ago and was looking for places off Duval (can be a little too touristy). Found this French cafe off yelp, which was right down the street from southermost. Typical french breakfasts, nice human portions, and great coffee. The inside is small but when you are in lovely key west, outside living rules. They have a nice little patio in the back.

Good food, reasonably priced - especially for Key West. The first time we went, we spent a little over $31 and got the following: fresh-squeezed OJ, iced tea, veggie quiche (I thought it needed salt, husband liked it), salade Nicoise, strawberry shortcake, a mini jar of Bonne Maman raspberry preserves and two macarons. Anywhere else in KW, we'd have easily spent $50 on brunch. Service was good - super nice people behind the counter. I have since had all flavors of their macarons (which previously were not available in KW) and love them all. Had the smoked salmon sandwich w/ goat cheese and all the toppings and it is great - really filling and rich, just the right size. Cheated on Old Town Bakery and bought an almond croissant here. It was flat and really dark, but tasted good. Love that they deliver.

Amazing! The bread and pastries were so fresh, delicious and authentic. The Ham and Cheese breakfast sandwich was perfect, the eggs were slowly scrambled and unique. They took their time and it showed. They have breakfast bargains, in the form of the US breakfast and the French breakfast. Both include a fresh juice and a coffee drink of your choice. They served our breakfasts separately, which was no big deal. The sandwich took longer to prepare. I think they brought the pastries so our daughter could eat. Super kid-friendly. But just in the way all places should be--nice to kids. No coddling, nothing extraneous.

I'm giving three stars based on only one time I went to this cafe while visiting Key West. I stopped to get coffee and a chocolate croissant, which were fine. The problem is that I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get that to go, and there wasn't a big line. My other problem was with the girl handling the pastries. She took the croissant with her bare hand, the same hand she used to get the money from clients. I don't think it's too much to ask to use a tool or a napkin or ANYTHING cleaner than your hand to touch the clients' food.

Best brunch.. Had it two days in a row! We all ordered the Croque-Madame & fresh orange juice.

I so wanted to like this place! I did order there once for takeout and the food was good. So we went one Sunday afternoon around 2 PM after the owner had assured me they'd be open (when I spoke to him two days prior.) We walked in and were treated very rudely by a young man behind the counter, saying "We're closed. You need to leave". We said that the owner had assured us that they're open til 4. He said "I don't care. We're closing. We're done." I can't remember being treated so badly when we were wanting to spend some serious money! I hope the owner fired him.

Adorable, affordable and really delicious breakfast/brunch fare. My friend and I caught up at Frenchies this past weekend for brunch, my favorite meal of the day. I had her recommendation, the goat cheese quiche with side salad: yum. I have to let you in on my crush restaurants that serve a salad with your meal instead of potatoes or bread. The selection is pretty big and the prices are definitely fair. The owner is from France and is friendly and the staff is great.

Great little breakfast place. Very French! The food was excellent, the pace was very European (painfully slow). It helps if you speak French. They seem to cater to that. But again, the food was fantastic. Great quiche and wonderful croissant sandwich. Went here twice this week. Go early and walk around back for a little intimate table. Just don't be in a rush. Sit back and relax. You're in KW!

I absolutely love this charming place run by people from France. It is very small, but they have recently added a seating area outside in the back. Try, though, to sit indoors, because you can get to talk with the owners/managers (like Xavier) while they prepare your food. A more charming group of people would be hard to find. And the pastries! The croissants are authentic - flake and buttery. The breakfast sandwiches are wonderful - served with a small side salad with a delicious vinaigrette. I stop by this place about once a week while I am in KW..

Best French pastries ever! Great small place for breakfast and lunch. We have traveled France and these croissants and baguettes are better than we found in our travels as they are baked fresh throughout the day. PS...the mango pastries are amazing. Better than ANY filled donut. Go take a picture at the southern most point in the USA and walk 2 blocks. You will not regret it!

This is a cute little place. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is outstanding. Their juices are fresh squeezed and coffee, latte, and cappuccino made very fresh. The cappuccinos are overflowing with frothy goodness. I highly recommend the french or american breakfast, great after a night of drinking.

Had the smoked salmon w/onions, capers, tomato and their special dressing. Excellent. My companion had the quiche Lorraine which she said was a little heavy but otherwise very good. Total with Orangina and a bottled water was $23. Will definitely go back, even with so many other good places to try. Cool temp with heavy rain in KW with only two tables and a half dozen chairs inside. More seating outside and a few chairs on the front porch. Go on a nice day or plan on take away.

Great breakfast spot. They have limited indoor seating and the back deck can get a little stifling, but the quiches and croques are amazing. The coffee is great and comes out in a cauldron! Maybe not that big, but it's an enormous cup. This is another place that you need to walk to if possible. Our house was close by, but if your staying on the north part of the island, parking would be tough. All in all, Frenchies is worth the visit.

Went to Frenchies Cafe for breakfast of pastries and coffee. WOW! These are the best pastries I have ever had. They were so fresh, light and perfect! The coffee was delicious too. The owner is actually French with a french accent. he definitely makes the best there is. This is a must in Key West!!! So Delicious.

Great find across from The Southernmost Hotel. Awesome quiche and salads. Good portions, and fresh sandwiches. A small, cute, friendly place with excellent prices and service. Also croissants and pastry which were good if not quite up to French standards. Newly opened by a French couple. We actually went twice and preferred it to the Banana Cafe around the corner, both for quality and price. It is small so a large group would be difficult.

Stopped here 3x during our week stay. First time for the OJ which was recommended on TA. Everything smelled great. The second time for almond croissant and vegetable quiche. The best almond croissant we've ever had. The quiche was superb. They serve exceptionally tasty food here and they seem to take great pride in their craft.

Delicious. Small shop, so be there when doors open if you want an uncrowded start to the day. Owner and cook were both pleasant, appropriately service-oriented. Cafe au lait was delicious. If you prefer a real coffee experience to the manufactured one-world Starbucks machine, go HERE.

On a whole the food in Key West did not wow us. Frenchies Cafe definitely did wow us. The food is authentic and delicious and the seating area is just plain cute. Worth looking up, I had read reviews on Trip Advisor so I sought this place out. Our van driver was familiar with it and said it would not disappoint. It did not. Excellent.

Excellent find. Good juice, coffee, pastry and salads. A real refreshing change for breakfast or lunch. A little small, but get a salad to go and bring it back to the pool at your hotel, and you'll be all set!

Slowest place this side of France. Better bring at least one roll of quarters to feed the parking meters. If you have all day though, the food is good.

This place is awesome! The staff is so friendly. they help you out with the menu and recommend the tastiest dishes. I ordered the Quiche and a variety of pastries . The coffee is delicious , make sure you order a large. We ordered the Quiche with bacon and potatoes after it was recommended to us by the staff. I loved it, the bacon inside was crispy, the potatoes were soft . It came with a small side salad . Eggs and salad for breakfast , I never thought I would enjoy those two combined but I did. After the Quiche me and my GF shared we had to get something sweet. The pastries on the shelf were calling me. We got 2 different pastries , 1 had chocolate chips and the other was a slice of pineapple pie. Delicious! I wish your business all the best. Thank you very much Frenchies.

My boyfriend and I were in Key West for 3 days and ate a number of great places, and this was definitely the worst. It was recommended by the driver of the hotel's bus, so we went in for breakfast and were served by a girl with an accent who was unbelievably rude, unhelpful and obnoxious. We asked for some advice on how to get to a particular place, and she told us "don't go there" and "don't do that". She did tell us that renting bikes were the best idea, and that she could rent them to us. An American server made my coffee, and she made me a hot latte instead of the iced one I asked for, but was very apologetic and remade it for me. The coffee was pretty awful. When I went back in to fix the order, the same girl with an accent ignored me and spoke to some friend of hers that had just walked in, and when I left she said sarcastically after me "bye". By far the most unpleasant experience in a restaurant I've had in a long time. Stay away unless they improve their customer service.

Great place to eat breakfast. Food is delicious. Croissant, egg, ham, cheese sandwich is the best. Owner and girlfriend are thoughtful and humorous. Ate there twice. Would go back for more.

If you are a tourist, you need to know where the locals go. We know who buys their supplies at the dollar store!!! This is the BEST little cafe on our end of the island. This is REAL French food prepared by REAL French citizens. Everything they make is wonderful & top quality at a very affordable price for Key West. They are new but already have a huge local following. Would give them 6 stars if I could!
